Our client in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Paralegal to provide critical legal and administrative support to the Head of Legal for the Americas, who currently operates as a one-person legal department. The Paralegal will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts and other legal documents, conducting legal research, and assisting with corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory filings. The ideal candidate will bring strong contract management experience, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment. - Schedule: 20 Hours Per Week, Monday Through Friday, 4 Hours Each Day, 1:00PM - 5:00PM EST.
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland (Fully Remote)
- Employment Status: Temporary (6-month contract)
- Pay range: $36.00 - $40.00/hr. DOE.
Key Responsibilities of the Paralegal:
- Draft, review, and edit various legal agreements.
- Create and/or review Client's distribution & warehouse agreements, supplier agreements, buying/selling equipment, MSAs, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
- Review and ensure compliance of guarantees, comfort letters, and similar documents with internal templates.
- Maintain and organize legal document repositories.
- Support internal stakeholders with legal and contract-related requests.
- Track and prioritize incoming service requests; manage deadlines and deliverables.
- Assist in developing policies related to governance, compliance, and industry standards.
- Prepare and file UCC-1 financing statements and perform UCC searches.
- Coordinate notarization and apostille of documents.
- Draft corporate resolutions and support entity-level filings.
- File corporate documents and maintain updated certifications of existence.
- Perform clerical and administrative legal duties as needed.
- Participate in meetings with internal teams and external partners as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the legal department’s operation
Qualifications of the Paralegal:
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or related field; or equivalent professional experience. Paralegal Certificate HIGHLY PREFERRED!
- 3+ years’ experience as a Paralegal, with demonstrated experience drafting and reviewing contracts.
- Strong knowledge of legal documents, UCC Filings, drafting and reviewing NDAs and supply agreements.
- 3+ years’ experience with SharePoint, MS Office.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and contract structure.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote setting.
- Must be available to work East Coast business hours.
Preferred:
- Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese strongly preferred due to frequent interaction with Latin American offices.
- Experience supporting international business units is a plus.
- Familiarity with renewable energy or international trade is a bonus but not required.
