Senior Technical Business Analyst (Remote)
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst for their Portland, Oregon location. In this role you will provide technical business analysis support for small to medium-sized business technology proposals and projects with an intermediate-level complexity within the IT PMO portfolio.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Technical Business Analyst:
- Provide business analysis support and assistance, eliciting documents, and managing requirements to support the implementation of IT systems for a variety of internal clients by implementing small to medium -sized projects, as per the org’s established System Life Cycle (SLC) process.
- Collaborate with senior or lead analysts and/or manager to identify and plan business analysis work needed to meet project needs.
- Conduct preliminary analyses on proposals for IT systems.
- Work closely with internal client teams to provide technical business analysis assistance.
- Analyze the gathered information to present an organized, coherent understanding of the business problem and the proposed solution.
- Collaborate with technical team representative, senior or lead analyst, or manager (as needed) to translate customer needs into product requirements in sufficient detail for technical teams to implement.
- Review and validate requirements documentation with appropriate business and technology stakeholders.
- Facilitate the requirements documentation throughout the entire lifecycle of the project.
- Facilitate a shared understanding of the customer needs and technical solutions between business users and project teams.
- Schedule and attend vendor evaluation panels as a non-voting, technical advisor, providing input and recommendations as requested.
Requirements/Qualification for Senior Technical Business Analyst:
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology/systems, business administration, or a closely-related technical discipline is preferred.
- 7 years of experience is required with an applicable bachelor’s degree.
- 9 years of experience is required without a degree or an applicable degree.
- 11 years of experience is required without a degree.
- Experience should be consistent with the specific requirements of technical business analysis and information technology and progressively more technical in nature.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to present information in various forms (verbally, in writing, visually).
- Technical interviewing skills that include:
- Functional/process interviewing in the business environment.
- The ability to facilitate groups through process design and requirements gathering sessions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical teams.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships.
